3rd National Acid Sulfate Soil Conference

The National Acid Sulfate Soil Conference this year is the first since 1996.  It provides a fundamental role in letting federal, state and local government officers, researchers, consultants, developers, contractors, regional NRM boards and landcare groups' work together to protect the environment and local infrastructure from the impacts of acid sulfate soils. MDBA are sponsoring Paper Session 1 - Understanding Inland Acid Sulphate Soils. Rob Kingham from the MDBA will present a paper.

2012 marks the 2nd Practical Responses to Climate Change Conference.  The conference will provide a forum for presenting strategies for managing a variable and changing climate through the lens of the water sector. It will be an opportunity for policy makers, engineers, scientists, planners and academics to present, hear and debate the latest research and practice on water and climate policy implementation challenges in urban, catchment and coastal environments. High profile national and international speakers will be brought together with delegates for a series of plenary lectures that will ensure a vibrant and interesting program.

The Climate Change Adaptation in Action Conference 2012 will be the nexus between the research community and the users of climate change adaptation information of Australia.  Following on from the 2010 conference and drawing on examples of world leading climate change adaptation research, best practice case studies and the eight National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility Networks, this will be a major climate change adaption event for 2012.
