Guide to MDBC report
This brief report is a final summary of the performance of the Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC) from 1 July 2008 up to and including 14 December 2008.
On 15 December, MDBC and its functions were subsumed into the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA).
This report contains the following:
- an outline of the structure, governance and functions of MDBC
- a table summarising performance up to and including 14 December 2008 against the key performance indicators based on the MDBC Strategic Plan 2005-2010 and related Business Plan
- audited MDBC financial statements up to and including 14 December 2008
- appendixes with information on MDBC governance bodies and committees.
Under the provisions of the MDBC to MDBA transition, MDBA continued to report against the objectives of the MDBC Strategic Plan 2005-2010 and the related Business Plan during the 2008-09 financial year.
To make it easier for readers to find and understand information about the ongoing work done during the whole of 2008-09, the detailed information on performance against the Strategic Plan is included as one integrated and continuous story in chapters 2-4 of the MDBA report (pages 19-117).
