How the river runs

These snapshots provide a brief overview of the river catchments in the Murray–Darling Basin. Some have been grouped together to cover more than one catchment. A simple and colourful illustrative map shows the catchment in context, and various longitudinal profiles have been included to show elevation views of various rivers in the catchment, from its headwaters to its end, including the major towns, water storages (dams, weirs), environmental assets and irrigation diversions along its route.
