The Living Murray watering the icon sites-a snapshot 2011-12

The Living Murray watering the icon sites-a snapshot 2011-12

Heavy rainfall in the 2011-12 water year (1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012) again caused significant flooding in parts of the Murray-Darling Basin. A total of 274,065 megalitres of The Living Murray water was delivered to the icon sites in combination with other water holders. This publication reports on how much water was delivered to each icon site, why the water was delivered and some of the early monitoring results from the waterings. The publication also gives a snapshot of The Living Murray environmental watering program from 2007 until 2012, through the longest drought in recorded history and then record rain in the southern Murray-Darling Basin.

The publication is also available in hardcopy. To order email denise.fowler@mdba.gov.au.
