Stand Condition assessment of forests and woodlands reports for The Living Murray icon sites – 2013

The reports assess the health of river red gum and black box forest and woodland at each of The Living Murray icon sites, in 2013.

Previous assessments (in 2012) showed that 'good' condition forest increased following the natural flooding and environmental watering that occurred between late 2010 and 2012. However, with only small areas of floodplain inundated in 2013, there was a slight decline in the area of 'good' condition across all sites and most vegetation types. Regular inundation is required to continue to increase the area of good condition forest.
