The collection

The Murray–Darling Basin Authority library is a small specialised collection of approximately 14,000 texts and reports, mostly of a technical nature, and a limited number of journals.

The collection covers water resources management and development, including topics such as environmental management, water quality, irrigation, and salinity, particularly in relation to the Murray–Darling Basin.

Access to the collection

The main purpose of the library is to support the work of the authority and its staff. However, researchers, including academics, students and consultants, are able to access the collection, by appointment, when the library is staffed. A photocopier is available for limited use.

Interlibrary loans (ILLs)

Interlibrary loans (ILLs) of some materials from the library can be organised through the user’s institutional or organisational library. The loan period is three weeks.

The Australian Library and Information Association charging rate of A$13.20 per ILL applies. The library is a member of the Environment Libraries Network and waives charges for other member libraries.

No loans can be made direct to individuals.
