Under regulated flow conditions and due to the northern rivers being long and flat, it is not practical to provide regulated releases from the northern Basin storages to replenish water in Menindee Lakes. It is only during flood conditions that the northern Basin is connected to the southern Basin. This assessment of water in storage does not include water in private storage.
