After a hugely successful pilot program in 2013, we are excited to announce the first official Basin Champions program in 2014!
The Basin Champions Program offers students from year 4 to year 9 the opportunity to link up with Murray–Darling Basin Authority experts through videoconferencing and investigate the health of a river or creek near their school. Students will learn how the health of their own community can have an effect on the broader Murray–Darling system through their local waterways. Participants can choose their own investigation topic or develop one with the support of the MDBA education team.
There are two exciting Basin Champions programs happening in 2014, one for primary schools in term two, and one for secondary schools in term three. Check out the for teachers page to download the information packs!
