Australian Government Caretaker Period

A Federal Election has been called for Saturday, 18 May,  2019. This means the Australian Government and the Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) has now entered a caretaker period. The caretaker period begins at the time the House of Representatives is dissolved, and continues until the election result is clear.

During the caretaker period, the business of government continues along with ordinary matters of administration, with some exceptions. During this period, no significant new decisions or initiatives, appointments or contractual undertakings will be made by the MDBA.

We are planning a range of business as usual activities during this time.
