Water Sharing Rules for Medium Priority water allocations is given in Chapter 6 Part 2 of the Border Rivers Resource Operations Plan.

Water Allocation security objectives and performance indicators are stated in Part 4 Division 2 of the Water Resource (Border Rivers) Plan 2003.

Carryover arrangements:

Continuous share accounting is in place for individual water allocation holders i.e. water in the account is continually carried forward and is not reset at the start of the water year.

Timing and manner of making allocation announcements:

Timing:

The resource operations licence holder may carry out a resource assessment and distribute the water in accordance with Chapter 6 Part 2 Division 1 of the Resource Operations Plan.

Section 149 of the Resource Operations Plan requires that the Resource Operations Licence holder to publish details of a priority distribution of water.

Water year is defined as 'The period from 1 July to 30 June' in the Border Rivers Resource Operations Plan Attachment 7 (Dictionary).

Manner:

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines provides a monthly statement of each individual account to the relevant account holder.

The term 'publish' is defined in the Water Act 2000 (Qld).

How allocation levels are determined:

Water sharing rules for undertaking a resource assessment and distribution to Medium Priority water allocation accounts are provided in Chapter 6 Part 2 Division 1 of the Resource Operations Plan.

Areas to which this water access right may be traded:

Resource Operations Plan provisions determine or identify the limitation on trading within and between zones and water supply schemes. Chapter 6 Part 3 and Part 4 of the Border Rivers Resource Operations Plan 2008 provides specific trade rules relevant to changes of location for both permanent and temporary trade.
