Landholders and river users, including pumpers, on the Mitta Mitta River are advised to take into account the forecast releases of water from Dartmouth Dam and make any necessary adjustment to their river activities.

In response to recent rainfall, MDBA has commenced airspace operations at Dartmouth Dam.

From 5 August 2022 MDBA operations has increased releases from Dartmouth Dam from 500 ML/day to 1,500 ML/day at Colemans Gauge. Across the weekend releases are likely to further increase to between 3,000 ML/day and 6,000 ML/day at Colemans. At Tallandoon flows are expected to remain below 10,000 ML/day (channel capacity).

Please note system conditions may change over the coming days and weeks. Another flow advice will be issued as release requirements change.

Landholders and river users on the Mitta Mitta are advised to regularly check the current flows and forecasts on the MDBA website for more information on releases from Dartmouth Dam. Summary information about the River Murray system is available in the River Murray weekly report.

If you are observing bank erosion around key assets on your property, as a result of the higher river flows, please call the North East Catchment Management Authority.  They implement a riparian program in conjunction with the MDBA.
