First MDBA webinar for 2022

Join our webinar on 23 February for a look at the unique values of the Basin.
Published: 18 February 2022

Following the success of the Murray–Darling Basin Authority’s (MDBA) webinars in 2021, which attracted more than 1500 participants to 8 sessions, we are kicking off this year with a look at the unique values of the Basin.

Water is a precious resource in Australia and the Murray–Darling Basin is our largest and most complex river system. From rugged mountain ranges, through sun-kissed plains, to the ancient lakes and connection to the sea.

Managing a system that is so diverse, where there are competing needs, is challenging – but it’s worth it. Healthy rivers, lakes and wetlands are essential now and for future generations.

Our economy and communities depend on a healthy Basin. The Basin is our main food bowl and tourism is a key driver of local employment.

That’s why we’re going back to basics and making it the subject of our next #MDBAwebinar – Values of the Murray–Darling Basin. Learn more about the Basin, why it’s worth protecting and how science and knowledge guides how this precious resource is safeguarded for the future.

At our next free webinar, we will be hearing from:

  • MDBA Authority Member Susan Madden
  • MDBA Basin Plan Implementation General Manager, Megan Winter
  • ABARES Assistant Secretary, David Galeano

Join us at 10:30 am AEDT on Wednesday 23 February on our webinars page.

If you missed any of our webinars in 2021, you can watch them anytime from our webinars page.
