River reflections conference. Connecting Basin communities, industries and ideas

Tickets are now on sale for our annual regional water conference, River reflections, on 14 and 15 June in Narrabri, New South Wales.

River reflections is about connecting communities, industries and ideas in water management and sharing knowledge, innovation and celebrating achievements in water reform.

The 2023 program includes a combination of tours, presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions. For those that can’t attend the conference register to live stream it here.

Program

Day 1 overview

The address on day 1 will be from renowned sustainable river ecologist, Professor N. LeRoy Poff, from the University of Canberra and Colorado State University, who will share an international perspective on water management.

Day 1 also includes:

  • next steps in the Basin Plan
  • a celebration of Basin success stories 
  • a showcase of adapting to a drying climate
  • a bus tour of local farming sites and research projects.

Day 2 overview

On Day 2, our keynote will be delivered by the Murray–Darling Basin Authority chair, Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC (Ret'd), who will address the conference on the future of the Basin.

Day 2 also will cover:

  • how diversity delivers economic outcomes
  • waterbird trends
  • a tour to the largest fish farm in the southern hemisphere.
