MDBA Overview Brochure

The Murray–Darling Basin is made up of the catchments of the River Murray, the Darling River, and all the rivers and creeks that flow into them. The Basin is a place of great national significance with many important social, economic and environmental values. Home to over two million people, the Basin covers 1,059,000km2 - about 14% of Australia's landmass. It includes parts of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and all of the Australian Capital Territory.
