Irrigation area mapping of the Murray and Lower Darling Rivers

The Murray–Darling Basin Authority operates the River Murray System for distribution of water between NSW, Victoria and SA as required under the Murray–Darling Basin Agreement and for other related functions under the Agreement, such as the management of salinity. To assist discharge of its responsibilities under the Agreement, MDBA has built, maintained and operated a hydrological model of the River Murray System. Tri-annual Irrigation area mapping of the Murray and Lower Darling Rivers System in the Swan Hill to Barrages Region is undertaken to build, maintain and operate the model of the River Murray System. The Report describes the mapping undertaken in 2019.
