Murray-Darling Basin Authority annual report 2015-16

The Murray–Darling Basin Authority annual report 2015–16 is the report of the Chief Executive to parliament on the performance of the MDBA in the 2015–16 financial year.

It reports our performance against our outcome, and key performance indicators as outlined in our 2015–16 to 2018–19 corporate plan, and Portfolio Budget Statements.

Highlights this year included:

  • substantial progress on the three year review of science, social and economic information in the northern basin
  • meeting with hundreds of people in more than 73 towns and farms across the Murray–Darling Basin to hear about the impact of water policy on their communities
  • diverting about 524,728 tonnes of salt from the River Murray
  • working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups on Use-and-Occupancy Mapping, and to develop cultural, social and economic indicators.

The report also presents the MDBA’s audited financial statements and accountability requirements.
