The Southern Connected Basin Environmental Watering Committee provides an Annual Report to the Murray–Darling Basin Ministerial Council via the Environmental Water Committee and Basin Officials Committee. The Southern Connected Basin Environmental Watering Committee annual report provides an overview of the significant achievements made in each environmental watering year. The reports provide information on watering actions, environmental outcomes, lessons learnt, communication and community involvement, coordination, and an update on jointly managed water and other activities.

The River Murray Channel Monitoring Plan 2021–22 to 2025–26 was developed by Southern Connected Basin Environmental Watering Committee to improve monitoring of system scale responses to coordinated water for the environment delivery in the Southern Connected Basin. The plan focuses on productivity and fish indicators to inform watering management, with an annual review of implementation to inform any refinements to the plan over the five year period.
