Approaches to achieve sustainable groundwater management in the Murray-Darling Basin

The MDBA commissioned a project in 2013 to identify the types of rules and resource condition limits (RCLs) that jurisdictions could use in water resource plans to manage the site specific impacts of groundwater take and to provide a suggested framework on how an assessment of the need for rules can be undertaken. The reports from this project, "Approaches to achieve sustainable groundwater management in the Murray-Darling Basin" and the accompanying "Literature review of approaches for groundwater management in the Murray-Darling Basin" provide information that the jurisdictions can draw on when developing their groundwater water resource plans.
